The Amazingly Stupid Utterances
of the Believers in the UFO News Groups.

Anyone who has read the UFO news groups for any length of time eventually realizes that the posters are polarized into two camps. There are the skeptics, and there are the believers. Each side seems to speak it's own language. The skeptics speak of evidence, proof, verification, the scientific method and logic. The believers have their own language too. But their language is quite a bit different. To be blunt about it, UFO believers say a lot of stupid things. The believer camp produces an amazing flood of utter stupidity. However, every once in a while, a believer goes above and beyond the call of ordinary stupidity and utters something really amazingly stupid. I have collected some of these gems here and sorted them into various categories of stupidity.

The following outstanding examples of "believer speak" from the UFO news groups are presented for your amusement just as they originally appeared in the NGs and message boards. Spelling, grammar and punctuation have not been modified.

Examples of Believer Ignorance

Why is it that, for the most part, only ignorant people believe we are being visited by aliens? This is a question that has bugged me for decades. It seems to me that credulity and ignorance seem to go hand in hand. Just how ignorant is the average UFO enthusiast and how did they get that way? Read these fine posts and judge for yourself.

Examples of Believer Paranoia

Belief in alien visitation and paranoia seem to go hand in hand. Most believers see a massive government conspiracy to cover up the "TRVTH" as they see it and silence those who would tell it by whatever means necessary, including murder. Other believers live in fear of being abducted and experimented on by aliens. Just how paranoid are believers? See for yourself.

Examples of Believers Jumping to Conclusions

If jumping to conclusions was an olympic sport, all the gold medal winners would be believers in alien visitation. From nothing more than fuzzy photos and third hand tall tales they can construct amazing "theories" to explain the UFO phenomenon and the technology of the aliens.

Examples of Believers Being Full of Themselves

Being a believer in alien visitation means that you are one of the chosen few who know the "TRVTH" about what is "really" going on. As members of such an "elite" group, they seem to feel that it is natural for them to look down on their fellow beings who just don't get it (especially skeptics and debunkers) with a little bit of contempt.

The Weird Science and Math of Believers

Believers and science are like oil and water. They just don't mix. Because the believers are for the most part utterly ignorant of science (see above), most of them see science is either some sort of closed pseudo religious cult, or an arm of the massive government conspiracy to cover up the "TRVTH" about alien visitation. Some see it as both. And some just make up their own kooky pseudo scientific mumbo jumbo out of thin air to explain the UFO phenomenon and can't understand why the "establishment" doesn't immediately adopt it, toss out all the old science and shower the wannabe Einstein with praise and Nobel Prizes. When it comes to math, believers are no better. See for yourself:
